Product summary

Based on the ingredient list, "Filorga - TIME-FILLER 5XP Correction Cream-Gel All Types of Wrinkles + Night Free" can work well for skin moisturization. As we expect from a proper moisturizer, the formula includes a combo of effective humectants and emollients. These are the two different types of ingredients that are essential for improving the skin hydration and supporting a healthy skin barrier. Humectants in this product (acetyl hexapeptide-8, alanine, aspartic acid, biosaccharide gum-1 and glucosamine hcl) help to increase the water content in the upper layer of the skin. (These ingredients do so by "capturing" water molecules from the outside air or from within the deeper layers of the skin). Emollients in this formulation (palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, dimethicone, squalane and cetyl alcohol) help to reduce the moisture loss from the skin. They also soften the skin surface and relieve the feeling of dryness and tightness.

Ingredient callouts

  • This product also contains Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). It can be an effective active for anti-aging and evening out the skin tone, but in this moisturizer it is used for stabilizing other ingredients in the formulation. In this concentration (0.15% - 0.60%) it cannot have a noticeable benefit for the skin.
  • This moisturizer includes a form of Retinoids (vitamin A) - retinyl acetate 0.15% - 0.55% and retinyl acetate 0.15% - 0.60%, but this type of vitamin A is not very effective. It could in theory help with fine lines and wrinkles, but the effect is most likely minimal.
  • This moisturizer also contains Peptides (palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 0.15% - 0.70%, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 0.15% - 0.70%, acetyl hexapeptide-8 0.15% - 0.60%, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 0.15% - 0.70%, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 0.15% - 0.70% and dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate 0.15% - 0.60%). Peptides are a very big group of ingredients. They all consist of a different combination of aminoacids. Our skin produces Peptides naturally. Some of them work as natural antibiotics, promote wound-healing and production of collagen. The scientists are still studying how effective the topical application of Peptides is, but it is very likely that they are helpful. Peptides might be able to support skin barrier restoration and even have an anti-aging benefit. At the very least, they certainly help attract water to the skin and support the hydration in this way.
  • Adenosine 0.15% - 0.60%. It is a compound that in involved in many biological processes inside the skin cells. According one high-quality clinical trial, topical Adenosine in low concentrations can somewhat help improve "deep wrinkles" - the wrinkles that appear with age in places where our faces are most dynamic (for example, on the forehead or in the corners of the eyes).
This product contains ingredients that could be beneficial, but their concentrations are too low in this formulation: niacinamide, niacin, vitamin c, vitamin e, caprylic/capric triglyceride, gluconolactone, niacinamide, niacin, vitamin c, vitamin e and caprylic/capric triglyceride
