Product summary

Based on the ingredient list, "OleHenriksen - Glow Strong Mini Moisturizer + Eye Cream Duo" can work well for skin moisturization. As we expect from a proper moisturizer, the formula includes a combo of effective humectants and emollients. These are the two different types of ingredients that are essential for improving the skin hydration and supporting a healthy skin barrier. Acetyl hexapeptide-8, acetyl octapeptide-3, alanine, anhydroxylitol and arginine in this product (humectants) attract water molecules to the upper layer of the skin (the water comes from the outside air or from the deeper layers of the skin if the air is dry). Ceramide eop, ceramide np, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and phytosphingosine in this product help decrease the water evoporation from the skin, so that it stays hydrated for longer. These ingredients also soften the skin and take away the feeling of tightness and dryness.

Ingredient callouts

  • This product also contains Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). It can be an effective active for anti-aging and evening out the skin tone, but in this moisturizer it is used for stabilizing other ingredients in the formulation. In this concentration (0.30% - 0.55%) it cannot have a noticeable benefit for the skin.
  • Another benefit is that this moisturizer contain ceramides (phytosphingosine 0.30% - 0.60%, ceramide eop 0.35% - 0.60%, ceramide ap 0.30% - 0.60% and ceramide np 0.45% - 0.65%). Ceramides are an important part of our natural skin barrier. The Ceramides used in skincare are synthetic or come from plants. They help soften the skin and can help "fill the gaps" in the skin barrier, keeping the skin hydrated and resilient for longer.
  • This moisturizer also contains Peptides (palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 0.50% - 0.75%, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 0.50% - 0.75%, acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester 0.50% - 0.75%, acetyl tetrapeptide-2 0.50% - 0.75%, acetyl octapeptide-3 0.55% - 0.85%, acetyl hexapeptide-8 0.65% - 1.00% and acetyl hexapeptide-1 0.90% - 1.10%). Peptides are a very big group of ingredients. They all consist of a different combination of aminoacids. Our skin produces Peptides naturally. Some of them work as natural antibiotics, promote wound-healing and production of collagen. The scientists are still studying how effective the topical application of Peptides is, but it is very likely that they are helpful. Peptides might be able to support skin barrier restoration and even have an anti-aging benefit. At the very least, they certainly help attract water to the skin and support the hydration in this way.
This product contains ingredients that could be beneficial, but their concentrations are too low in this formulation: titanium dioxide, vitamin e, vitamin c, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, butyrospermum parkii butter, jojoba oil and vitamin e
