Product summary

"Neker - Moistouch Eye Cream" has a good moisturizing formula. To work well, any moisturizer needs to include a combination of water-binding and emollient ingredients. Neker - Moistouch Eye Cream ticks this box. Humectants in this product (acetyl hexapeptide-8, acetyl octapeptide-3, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, hexapeptide-9 and carnosine) help to increase the water content in the upper layer of the skin. (These ingredients do so by "capturing" water molecules from the outside air or from within the deeper layers of the skin). Ceramide eop, ceramide np, ceramide ns, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 and phytosphingosine in this product help decrease the water evoporation from the skin, so that it stays hydrated for longer. These ingredients also soften the skin and take away the feeling of tightness and dryness.

Ingredient callouts

  • We love that this moisturizer contains a good concentration of niacinamide 1.80% - 2.20%. Niacinamide is a perfect active in a moistruizer because it helps calm down inflamation in skin and support the skin barrier. More than that, it is helpful for most common skin concerns: it helps regulat oil production, help reduce acne and clogged pores, improve skin tone and prevent pigmentation marks. It also helps fight photodamage.
  • This moisturizer includes a form of Retinoids (vitamin A) - retinyl palmitate 0.20% - 0.40%, but this type of vitamin A is not very effective. It could in theory help with fine lines and wrinkles, but the effect is most likely minimal.
  • As a plus, this moisturizer also contains Ceramides (phytosphingosine 0.25% - 0.50%, ceramide ns 0.20% - 0.40%, ceramide np 0.25% - 0.45%, ceramide eop 0.20% - 0.40%, ceramide as 0.20% - 0.35% and ceramide ap 0.20% - 0.35%). Ceramides are a type of lipids that our skin produces itself. They are a building block of the skin's barrier. Ceramides used in skincare are synthetic or extracted from plants. They work well for softening the skin surface and "patch holes" in the skin's barrier.
  • This moisturizer also contains Peptides (tripeptide-1 0.20% - 0.35%, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-50 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 0.25% - 0.50%, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 0.25% - 0.45%, oligopeptide-1 0.20% - 0.40%, nonapeptide-1 0.20% - 0.40%, hexapeptide-9 0.20% - 0.40%, hexapeptide-11 0.20% - 0.40%, dipeptide-4 0.20% - 0.40%, dipeptide-2 0.20% - 0.40%, dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate 0.20% - 0.35%, copper tripeptide-1 0.20% - 0.35%, acetyl tetrapeptide-5 0.20% - 0.35%, acetyl tetrapeptide-3 0.20% - 0.35%, acetyl octapeptide-3 0.20% - 0.35%, acetyl hexapeptide-8 0.20% - 0.35% and acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester 0.20% - 0.35%). Peptides are a very big group of ingredients. They all consist of a different combination of aminoacids. Our skin produces Peptides naturally. Some of them work as natural antibiotics, promote wound-healing and production of collagen. The scientists are still studying how effective the topical application of Peptides is, but it is very likely that they are helpful. Peptides might be able to support skin barrier restoration and even have an anti-aging benefit. At the very least, they certainly help attract water to the skin and support the hydration in this way.
  • Adenosine 0.20% - 0.35%. It is a chemical present inside our skin cells. A clinical trial confirmed that topical application of Adenosine in a low concentration can reduce dynamic wrinkles (these are the wrinkles that appear with age in a places where our mimic is the most active, for example, in the corners of the eyes or on the forehead).
This product contains ingredients that could be beneficial, but their concentrations are too low in this formulation: stearic acid and bifida ferment lysate
