Product summary

"so natural - Cera Peptide Oil Finisher" is a well-rounded moisturizing product. The formulation is based on a combination of good humectants and emollients. Both are needed to increase the skin hydration level. Acetyl hexapeptide-8, hexapeptide-9, panthenol, glycerin and polyglutamic acid in this product (humectants) attract water molecules to the upper layer of the skin (the water comes from the outside air or from the deeper layers of the skin if the air is dry). Emollients in this formulation (ceramide 1, ceramide np, ceramide ns, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and phytosphingosine) help to reduce the moisture loss from the skin. They also soften the skin surface and relieve the feeling of dryness and tightness.

Ingredient callouts

  • Another benefit is that this moisturizer contain ceramides (ceramide 1 0.20% - 0.40%, ceramide ap 0.20% - 0.35%, ceramide as 0.20% - 0.35%, phytosphingosine 0.25% - 0.50%, ceramide ns 0.25% - 0.45%, ceramide np 0.25% - 0.50% and glucosyl ceramide 0.20% - 0.40%). Ceramides are an important part of our natural skin barrier. The Ceramides used in skincare are synthetic or come from plants. They help soften the skin and can help "fill the gaps" in the skin barrier, keeping the skin hydrated and resilient for longer.
  • We like that this moisturizer contains peptides (nonapeptide-1 0.25% - 0.45%, hexapeptide-9 0.20% - 0.40%, hexapeptide-11 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 0.25% - 0.50%, copper tripeptide-1 0.20% - 0.40%, acetyl hexapeptide-8 0.20% - 0.40% and tripeptide-1 0.25% - 0.45%). There are many different kind of Peptides and they are naturally present in our skin. They all are a combination of aminoacids. Some of them work as natural antibiotics, promote wound-healing and production of collagen. The science is still not settled on how effective Peptides are in skincare, but it is very likely that they have a benefit. Peptides might help restore the skin barrier and fight the signs of aging. At the very least, Peptides work as humectants: they attract water to the upper layer of the skin and improve its hydration.
  • Adenosine 0.30% - 0.55%. It is a compound that in involved in many biological processes inside the skin cells. According one high-quality clinical trial, topical Adenosine in low concentrations can somewhat help improve "deep wrinkles" - the wrinkles that appear with age in places where our faces are most dynamic (for example, on the forehead or in the corners of the eyes).
  • An effective concentration of Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) - about 0.95% - 1.15%. Panthenol helps strengthen the skin barrier, improve hydration and reduce inflammation in skin.
This product contains ingredients that could be beneficial, but their concentrations are too low in this formulation: stearic acid, allantoin and dipotassium glycyrrhizate
