Product summary

"Some By Mi - Charcoal BHA Pore Clay Bubble Mask" is effective for: Moisturizing, Exfoliation, Evens skin tone, Anti-blemish and Anti-aging

Ingredient callouts

  • A good concentration of Niacinamide (1.90% - 2.30%). Niacinamide is a well-studied multi-tasking active. It is stable, and can work well in almost any hydrating formulation. There is solid evidence that Niacinamide can help support skin barrier, regulate oil production and reduce acne and clogged pores. It also helps to fight photodamage and improve the skin tone, reducing pigmentation marks.
  • This product contains acids (gluconolactone 0.80% - 1.15% and mandelic acid 10.00% (declared)). Their concentration is low, and they will not have a strong exfoliating effect. Instead, they work to support the skin natural acid mantle and to attract water (as humectants). PHAs (gluconolactone) especially are great for improving skin hydration. They might be even able to stimulate the production of skin's natural humectants and support the healthy skin microbiome.
  • Ceramides (ceramide np 0.30% - 0.55%). Ceramides are an important part of our natural skin barrier. The Ceramides used in skincare are synthetic or come from plants. They help soften the skin and can help "fill the gaps" in the skin barrier, keeping the skin hydrated and resilient for longer.
  • Salicylic acid (0.95% - 1.15%). This is an oil-soluble exfoliating acid. Because of this property, it can work inside pores and help reduce the congestion. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and is used to treat acne. Because it is a quite strong exfoliator, be careful with using this product too often: it could result in over-exfoliation.
  • Adenosine 0.20% - 0.40%. It is a chemical present inside our skin cells. A clinical trial confirmed that topical application of Adenosine in a low concentration can reduce dynamic wrinkles (these are the wrinkles that appear with age in a places where our mimic is the most active, for example, in the corners of the eyes or on the forehead).
  • Actives derived from an extract of the Centella Asiatica plant (also known as Gotu Kola) - asiatic acid 0.25% - 0.45%, asiaticoside 0.20% - 0.40%, madecassic acid 0.25% - 0.45% and madecassoside 0.25% - 0.45% The Centella Asiatica Actives help strengthen and restore the skin barrier, decrease inflammation in skin and neutralize free radicals. They also can help to reduce scarring. The good news is that these actives work even in low concentrations.
  • Humectants (sodium hyaluronate 0.25% - 0.45%, histidine 0.25% - 0.45%, arginine 0.30% - 0.55%, alanine 0.30% - 0.60%, aspartic acid 0.40% - 0.60%, glutamic acid 0.35% - 0.65%, glycine 0.45% - 0.70% and glycerin 1.70% - 2.10%). These ingredients help attract water to the upper layer of the skin and improve the skin hydration.
