What does the product description say?
"We use an advanced azelaic acid derivative clinically proven to provide maximum benefits including normalizing sebum production and hydration."
From: Naturium

WIMJ FORMULA ANALYSIS

It can be helpful for moisturization, but will not get the job done on its own. Has good ingredients to attract water to the skin, but the ingredients to "seal in" the moisture and reduce water loss over time can be more effective.

Pos Ingredient Name Description
1 water Plain old water
2 propanediol Acts as a solvent for other ingredients. Speeds up the absorption of other ingredients into the skin
3 potassium azeloyl diglycinate A derivative of azelaic acid. It is less studied than azelaic acid, but the available research suggests that it also can be effective in reducing skin redness, hyperpigmentation and blemishes
4 polyacrylate crosspolymer-6
5 niacinamide Is proven to be effective in reducing blemishes, evening out skin tone and helping to improve lines and wrinkles. It helps the skin to repair sun damage, calm down inflammation and keep maintain good levels of moisture
6 ethyl ascorbic acid A vitamin C derivative that is more stable but less potent than pure form of vitamin C. Can help neutralize free radicals and help reduce hyperpigmentation, but the required concentration is likely to be much higher than for the pure form of vitamin C, limiting the ingredient's effectiveness in products
7 caprylyl glycol Helps preserve products and creates a nice product texture
8 coffea arabica (coffee) seed extract Might be helpful in neutralizing free radicals in skin
9 sodium hyaluronate One of the best moisturizing ingredients. Attracts water into the upper layer of the skin
10 phenylpropanol Helps mask the smell of other ingredients and helps preserve the product formulation
11 phenoxyethanol A preservative. It helps prevent bacterial growth in cosmetic products
12 citric acid Can work as an exfoliant but is typically used to adjust the product pH
13 potassium chloride
14 glycerin One of the best moisturizing ingredients. Naturally present in skin. It attracts water to the upper layer of the skin working as a humectant
15 chlorphenesin A preservative
16 tocopherol Pure form of vitamin E. Can help moisturise and protect the skin from free radicals. Often used to help stabilise other ingredients or the formula itself
17 potassium sorbate A preservative
18 sodium benzoate A preservative
