This product can help improve hydration of the skin with the two types of ingredients.

The first type is called “humectants”:
these ingredients help attract water. When humectants are on the surface of the skin, they “pull in” the moisture from the outside environment, or from within deeper layers of the skin. The following ingredients in this product do the job: betaine, biosaccharide gum-1.

This product also contains ingredients called “occlusives”. They help reduce the speed with which our skin loses moisture to the outside environment. These ingredients also help soften the upper layer of the skin, so it feels less tight and nicer to the touch. The following ingredients in this product do the job: caprylic/capric triglyceride, squalane.

The texture is on the lighter side for a hydrating serum, comparing to the ones that I've used, it's much lighter than the La Roche Posay B5 serum, but thicker than some of the korean ampoules (e.g. skin1004 blue serum, torriden dive in serum) that just feels like water on the skin. It calms down the skin pretty well because i started using it when I had a red patch on my skin from overusing benzyol peroxide, it healed it almost overnight.
I use it as a daily serum. In winter, it's a little thin, but for spring/summer/fall it would be 100% perfect.
I have dry, reactive skin.
