Product summary

"Grown Alchemist - Age-Repair Moisturiser Phyto-Peptide and White Tea Extract" is a well-rounded moisturizing product. As we expect from a proper moisturizer, the formula includes a combo of effective humectants and emollients. These are the two different types of ingredients that are essential for improving the skin hydration and supporting a healthy skin barrier. Humectants in this product (glycerin, saccharide isomerate, hydrolyzed soy protein, hydrolyzed wheat protein and aloe barbadensis leaf extract) help to increase the water content in the upper layer of the skin. (These ingredients do so by "capturing" water molecules from the outside air or from within the deeper layers of the skin). Emollients in this formulation (tripeptide-1, camellia oleifera seed oil, cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol and aloe barbadensis leaf extract) help to reduce the moisture loss from the skin. They also soften the skin surface and relieve the feeling of dryness and tightness.

Ingredient callouts

  • This moisturizer also contains Peptides (tripeptide-1 0.45% - 0.70% and tripeptide-10 citrulline 0.45% - 0.65%). Peptides are a very big group of ingredients. They all consist of a different combination of aminoacids. Our skin produces Peptides naturally. Some of them work as natural antibiotics, promote wound-healing and production of collagen. The scientists are still studying how effective the topical application of Peptides is, but it is very likely that they are helpful. Peptides might be able to support skin barrier restoration and even have an anti-aging benefit. At the very least, they certainly help attract water to the skin and support the hydration in this way.
  • Salicylic acid (0.60% - 0.90%) in this product will have an exfoliating effect and help smooth the skin. We, however, do not recommend using a moisturizer with Salicylic Acid daily to avoid over-exfoliating.
This product contains ingredients that could be beneficial, but their concentrations are too low in this formulation: vitamin e, lactic acid and lecithin
