Product Summary

Based on the ingredient list, "BIOHEAL BOH - Probioderm 3D Lifting Eye & Wrinkle Cream" can work well for skin moisturization. The formulation is based on a combination of good humectants and emollients. Both are needed to increase the skin hydration level. Humectants in this product (acetyl hexapeptide-8, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, hexapeptide-9, panthenol and arginine) help to increase the water content in the upper layer of the skin. (These ingredients do so by "capturing" water molecules from the outside air or from within the deeper layers of the skin). Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, tripeptide-1, vinyl dimethicone, arginine and caprylic/capric triglyceride in this product help decrease the water evoporation from the skin, so that it stays hydrated for longer. These ingredients also soften the skin and take away the feeling of tightness and dryness.

Ingredient callouts

  • This moisturizer also contains Peptides (oligopeptide-1 0.20% - 0.40%, hexapeptide-9 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl tripeptide-5 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 0.25% - 0.50%, tripeptide-1 0.25% - 0.45%, copper tripeptide-1 0.20% - 0.40%, dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate 0.20% - 0.40%, palmitoyl tripeptide-8 0.20% - 0.40%, acetyl hexapeptide-8 0.25% - 0.40%, acetyl hexapeptide-1 0.25% - 0.45%, acetyl tetrapeptide-9 0.25% - 0.45%, nonapeptide-1 0.25% - 0.50% and acetyl tetrapeptide-5 0.30% - 0.55%). Peptides are a very big group of ingredients. They all consist of a different combination of aminoacids. Our skin produces Peptides naturally. Some of them work as natural antibiotics, promote wound-healing and production of collagen. The scientists are still studying how effective the topical application of Peptides is, but it is very likely that they are helpful. Peptides might be able to support skin barrier restoration and even have an anti-aging benefit. At the very least, they certainly help attract water to the skin and support the hydration in this way.
  • Adenosine 0.35% - 0.65%. It is a chemical present inside our skin cells. A clinical trial confirmed that topical application of Adenosine in a low concentration can reduce dynamic wrinkles (these are the wrinkles that appear with age in a places where our mimic is the most active, for example, in the corners of the eyes or on the forehead).
  • Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) at about 0.55% - 0.80% concentration. In this concentration, Panthenol works effectively to improve the skin barrier and reduce inflammation.
This product contains ingredients that could be beneficial, but their concentrations are too low in this formulation: vitamin e
