Transitioning to more appropriate skin care
One thing that I've always been unsure is if sunscreen is beneficial even if you're not going outside? I mean like, at ALL. That's another issue that overlaps with my skin but I work and go to school from home so I pretty much go outside like once a week -_-
I like the rosewater as a mist because my face starts to feel very hot and even itchy sometimes (rosacea) so a mist soothes it. I have switched to a micellar water cleanser as well and I really like it! One big thing that would prevent me from washing my face is I hate hate how it feels when the water runs down my arms, I just can't stand it. So using a cleansing method that doesn't need a ton of water is great for me.
if you look at my past routine it was all exfoliating fragrances - I was using whatever is in my beauty boxes without thinking about it 😭 it destroyed my skin barrier for sure. I do need to use some sort of exfoliator in conjunction with good moisturizers because of dry/dehydrated skin, but I'm cutting down from using multiple exfoliators layered without thinking because of those dang beauty boxes
I steer clear of exfoliating gels. They can cause micro tears in your skin and damage your skin barrier. I would opt for a gentle acid maybe? I don’t see sunscreen on here. I am a huge advocate for sunscreen. I love tinted sunscreen and have been able to get to the point where I don’t need foundation now which is really nice. The sun does a lot of damage. Micellar water is a form of a cleanser (anybody can correct me if I am wrong) I use it to take makeup off.
In the mornings I just rinse my face and then do my skincare to avoid too much washing of my face that can cause you to dry out. I sleep on a satin pillow (super cheap on Amazon) and change it out every three days or so… a week when I am being lazy. I’m curious about rose water.. I hear so many people being completely for it and others that say it doesn’t really have benefit, it just feels nice… not even mad at that though 😂
I love a good moisturizer, I used hydroboost from neutrogena and/or cetaphil for a long time before I was able to afford Elta md and that’s what I use now. Both do great.
