Hi All - Just wondering if I'm overdoing it on actives, or if there are any gems I may be overlooking. My biggest concern right now is hyperpigmentation as a result of a botched fraxel session. I'm seeing a dermatologist for the issue. If I'm a bit heavy on the ingredients to fix discoloration, this is why lol Secondary concern is creppiness around the eyes. And just overall skin health, I guess.
Since I am using so many ingredients to handle the discoloration, I'm super duper pale. Are there any facial self tanners that won't cause breakouts? I realize the tan won't last long but even just for a wknd, it would be fun :)
Hello there! 👋 I actually think you have a smart approach to actives, and, especially if you feel that your skin is not getting sensitized, too dry or too thin, then you are doing great! One point is that the DE Babyfacial & the DE Glycolic serum are very similar products, so you can keep only one in your routine once the other one runs out. There is a risk of over-exfoliating if you are using one of the two every single day - I'd limit the number you apply either of the two to 2-3 times a week.
Since you are already seeing a derm, I would ask them about a prescription for a retinoid (e.g. tretinoin). The doc would advise you on pro and cons. In case you get it prescribed, I'd dial down the exfoliation a bit (for example, using the DE exfoliating serum only once a week or pausing it completely for the first 1-2 months of starting a retinoid).
