At the very least, Peptides work as humectants: they attract water to the upper layer of the skin and improve its hydration.
Humectants (sodium hyaluronate 0.01% - 0.05%, glycerin 0.10% - 0.30%, sodium hyaluronate 0.50% - 1.10%, glycerin 1.10% - 1.60% and acetyl hexapeptide-8 2.50% - 3.80%). These ingredients help attract water to the upper layer of the skin and improve the skin hydration.

When humectants are on the surface of the skin, they “pull in” the moisture from the outside environment, or from

ingredients like dimethicone, squalane, oils and butters).
