Rumors say that you should only apply a "chickpea" amount of azelaic acid, I am using way more since I have quite some blemishes.
I saw some tik toks that you can apply as you want. I am not reacting so I figured I can risk it.
What are you recommendations?
The best way is to use the amount that is enough to cover your skin with a thin layer of the product - it can be more than a chickpea amount depending on the product texture, and the face size. So I wouldn't worry too much about measuring the product amount, especially if you are tolerating the product well. There is no benefit if using more than a thin layer though - so no need to waste the product by applying with a thick layer either.
