I think I have enlarged pores, but I'm wondering if my skincare isn't helping it, or I should add something? It's definitely starting to show It's age (late twenties). I just want it to look vibrant again, not blemished and dull. PD traveling for work, so planes and makeup are overkill I'm assuming.
I hear you! Frequent air travel and the lifestyle connected with it is hard for the skin - I've definitely been there!
There are a few things I can recommend:
- Skip the morning cleanse, just splash with water - it will reduce the damage to the skin barrier and preserve more hydration
- Add a daily sunscreen, broad spectrum SPF 30 at minimum
- I'd recommend going for a more hydrating moistruizer, and using it daily (possibly even twice per day - before sunscreen in the morning if your skni feels dry with the sunscreen alone and as the last skincare step at night). There are a few options here: https://whatsinmyjar.com/search/moisturizers/moisturizers-without-spf-and-night-creams?ingredients_by_name=Niacinamide&ingredient_groups_by_name=Ceramides&sortBy=Irritancy
- Consider using a retinoid at night, starting 2-3 times per week, and gradually increasing to every night. If you go for a retinoid, I'd skip the exfoliating treatment altogether - retinoids speed up the skin turnover, so you don't need the extra help. Exfoliating while using a retinoid can lead to sensitivity and increase dryness. - I would not recommend using the sleeping mask from Tonymoly, it's not better than a basic moisturizer, but contains irritants.
