I'd recommend a combo of retinol + thiamidol to help reduce the pigmentation. You could use a serum with retinol at night (https://whatsinmyjar.com/search/serums/retinol-serums?countries=United%20States&sortBy=Irritancy), and this corrector applied to the area with the hyperpigmentation in the morning: https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/eucerin-anti-pigment-spot-corrector
