hello! im an 18 year old and i have hyper-pigmentations from pimples and sun spots. i just bought the mediheal vitamide toner pads and i just found out it has retinol as the last 7th ingredient which is quite low on the ingredients list. the problem is im a little concerned as an 18 year old. i have never use retinol before. should i use the toner pads as a spot treatment to treat my hyper pigmentations? is it too early to use retinol at 18 since im using it for hyper pigmentations? someone please help! i appreciate it thank you!! i have attached the ingredient list, please advise!

I agree with Lamisa’s comment. I’d worry much more about the fact it has a lot of other irritating ingredients and not the retinol. A lot of teenagers use retinol to fight acne, so don’t worry about starting it so early. So my advice is:
Try the pads slowly since you already bought them, use a couple times a week first and then work your way into daily use.
If they irritate you, then it must be all the fragrances and essential oils.
If they don’t irritate you, just keep using them and hopefully you can see some results in about 3 months.
Good luck and don’t forget to use sunscreen :)

I’m not an expert in ingredient lists, but I personally wouldn’t use products with fragrances. The last few ingredients in the list (citronellol onwards) are all fragrant ingredients so they are quite irritating, so if you have sensitive skin, I wouldn’t explore this product any further. However, if you are comfortable with fragrance in skincare products, you can try it out. The retinol is quite low in the ingredient list, so it probably has a low concentration, so you can try it out because retinol is quite good for increasing skin cell turnover, so it will improve your hyperpigmentation. You can also copy and paste the ingredients into the Paula’s Choice Beautypedia ingredient checker to analyse the ingredients more, and you can also use the WIMJ ingredient checker too. Since there are some other irritating ingredients in this product, it can sensitise your skin and the retinol may affect your skin a bit more. You can try it in my opinion because the retinol concentration seems fairly low, but if there is too much irritation, then you should stop using it
Hope this helped!
