In search of a new sunscreen

I am in search of a great non-oily sunscreen to add to my low irritancy routine. I have tried bondi sands fragrance free spf 50 - it’s super oily - have tried their spray as well. I have tried the cetaphil spf 50, it pills a lot and gives my face a purple tint, so does the simple spf 30.

I’ve tried La roche posay invisible fluid, had a crazy breakout so threw it away.

The only spf I have had amazing results with was the Garnier spray and I cannot find it anywhere anymore. Please help :(

A nice low irritancy routine.

Do you know if you do better with chemical or physical sunscreens? I found my skin breaks out with chemical sunscreens (e.g., avobenzene, octocrylene, etc) but is fine with titanium and zinc oxide. Once I worked that out, it was a lot easier to narrow down a range of sunscreens.

Thank you for replying! Yes, my skin likes sunscreens with zinc oxide so that’s what I tend to look for

Potentially try Altruist SPF 30 or SPF 50 Face fluid, doesn't sting my eyes and its like a moisturiser/ sunscreen at same time. Great price as well to try it out. It's not completely matte though (I'm yet to find one that is myself). The SPF 30 face fluid is supposed to be less dewy i guess, the SPF 50 face fluid which i'm currently using was great for the summer but it all depends on your skin to be honest.

Hi. I see you have some breakout-fighting ingrediens in your routine, which makes me think that the Paula’s Choice Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30. It’s mineral but lightly tinted, so it doesn’t leave a white cast. And yes super light, non oily, non greasy. Packed with anti-aging antioxidants. You can also get it in travel size to test it out

Thank you all for your help, after much research I think I’m going to try the avene tinted mineral sunscreen because it’s the only sunscreen I’ve found that keeps the irritation rating on ‘low’. I also want to try the Eucerin oil control spf 50, I have melanated oily skin and have seen lots of good reviews for this although it has alcohol denat listed. Thank you again!

You might hop on over to YouTube and check out Hot and Flashy. Every May, for the last several years, she has done a sunscreen review. I think she prefers mineral sunscreens & this year’s winner has an SPF 50 PA++++. She addresses greasiness, white cast, how they wears under make up, etc… You can see how your opinions line up with hers & perhaps you’ll find something that works well for you. Good Luck!!

I just found a new 30+ by Byron Bay Bronze, it's basically an Invisible zinc. Doesn't make me break our as some sunscreens do. I can't tolerate chemical sunscreens so this stuff is a miracle.

Image skincare do a good zinc sunscreen, however some of their products also include a chemical sunscreen so check the exact ingredients.
