How do I improve my routine?

I do use a sunscreen daily I just forgot to add it - it’s either the Bondi sands one or neutrogena hydro boost.

I don’t have any major skin concerns just general redness, blackheads and uneven skin tone

Hello πŸ‘‹ Because of the redness, I'd generally recommend to opt for fragrance-free products (so no to synthetic, natural fragrance and essential oils).

On these grounds, I'd remove:

- REVOLUTION SKINCARE 12.5% Vitamin C Glow Serum πŸ›‘

- COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser πŸ›‘

- Carbon Theory Overnight Detox Serum πŸ›‘

- Kiehl's s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution πŸ›‘

I'd also recommend to skip the morning cleanse. The skin isn't dirty in the morning, and you can just splash it with water for a fresh feeling. Reducing the number of cleansings will help your skin barrier.

Then I'd try to reduce the number of products you are using by going for more multi-purpose products for non-capricious actives like B5 & niacinamide (they can be found in a moisturizer).

In terms of other actives, you are already using a retinoid. it is effective against pigmentation & clogged pores. Just please watch out for the irritation. If your redness is not getting better after removing the fragranced products, I'd pause the 0.5% retinol for a bit or use it less frequently (e.g every other night).

You could also introduce azelaic acid - it can help reduce pigmentation, regulate sebum production and support skin barrier.

So in summary, I'd update your routine like this:

AM

- The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/the-ordinary-azelaic-acid-suspension-10

- Olay Regenerist Whip Fragrance-Free Moisturizer https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/olay-regenerist-whip-fragrance-free-moisturizer

- sunscreen

PM

- Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Wash

- COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence (I'd use it up but won't repurchase)

- retinol (if your skin doesn't feel sensitive)

- Olay Regenerist Whip Fragrance-Free Moisturizer

Once a week, could be AM, before moisturizer (also only if your skin isn't feeling sensitive):

- The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Solution Pore Clearing Serum https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/the-ordinary-salicylic-acid-2-anhydrous-solution-pore-clearing-serum
