I am still *somewhat* new to these products and trying to determine if I am purging or if I am experiencing irritation. I have been using for about 2 months and I don't think my skin has ever looked this bad. It is a mix of cystic acne and rough bumps on my chin and forehead. There are occasional break outs in other areas of my face too but my forehead and my chin are ridiculous right now. I have used these actives before but was using them in a singular formula from the Ordinary. Wondering if there is something in Glow Recipe that is irritating my skin. I have reduced use of the toner to a few times a week and for now have cut out Differin Gel completely to try to re-balance my moisture levels and skin barrier. Any thoughts/advice?
That is what I was starting to wonder too...if I should skip it all together for a bit. I have had a nasty cold the last few days and have been doing just the baaaare minimum and my face is starting to look better. LOL. Wondering what the heck it is in Glow Recipe that is irritating my skin. :(
I think Glow recipe use loads of fragrance. Look at the ingredients, it shows up as "perfume". I have sensitive skin and I don't use anything with fragrance, drying alcohol and essential oils. My skin has improved so much since cutting them out.
i agree with Snowy :)
They do!!And SO many other things that are irritants 😠Prior to now, I never thought of my skin as sensitive really but apparently it is. Last night I just did the basics and my skin is already so much happier.
Ah so glad! For sensitive skin I prefer brands like Inkey list, the ordinary & NIOD. Depends what your price range is, but they don't use fragrance or other bad ingredients. There's probably other brands too that are kinder to skin.
Agree on TO and NOID. I was using those products and some K beauty brands like CosRX. I wasn't having issues with my skin but got tired of so many steps and wanted to consolidate my routine so glow recipe seemed like a way to do that. Urgh. No!! At least my skin is getting happier. Guess I will go back to TO and consult WIMJ for irritating brands from here on out!
Yay!!!!!!
Try lactic acid for cystic acne. It stings but I've been using Sunday Riley lactic acid for 3 weeks and it is clearing it up well. Use spf the next morning always and cleanse first and moisturize after.
In my humble opinion, I think that skipping the toner for the next few weeks would be better, stick to the basics (cleanse, moisterize, sunscreen)
