• Ceramides (ceramide np 0.05% - 0.25%). Ceramides are an important part of our natural skin barrier. The Ceramides used in skincare are synthetic or come from plants. They help soften the skin and can help "fill the gaps" in the skin barrier, keeping the skin hydrated and resilient for longer.
• Actives derived from an extract of the Centella Asiatica plant (also known as Gotu Kola) - madecassoside 0.35% - 0.80% The Centella Asiatica Actives, even in low concentration, can help reduce inflammation in skin, strengthen the skin barrier and reduce photodamage. They can also help to decrease scarring.
• Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) at about 1.60% - 2.40% concentration. In this concentration, Panthenol works effectively to improve the skin barrier and reduce inflammation.
• In addition, this product contains Allantoin (1.20% - 1.70%). Allantoin is helpful in wound-healing and can help restore the skin barrier faster. It might also be able to improve scars, but the evidence is not very strong for this.
• Humectants (tremella fuciformis sporocarp extract 0.10% - 0.30%, allantoin 1.20% - 1.70%, polyglycerin-3 1.40% - 2.10%, panthenol 1.60% - 2.40%, betaine 2.60% - 3.80% and glycerin 3.20% - 4.80%). These ingredients help attract water to the upper layer of the skin and improve the skin hydration.
