I've heard that I should stick to the same line of products . Is it true that they "work together" to create the best result, or could I still get great results by "mix and match" products?

Going through many ingredient lists, I notice that products in a same line often have very similar formulations, sometimes almost identical apart from texture ingredients (for example, between a serum and moisturizer, or toner and serum).
I tend to believe that the advice to stick to one product line actually comes from brands trying to sell you more of their products:)

hi there beccavalin! i’m gab and this is a very interesting topic for me, because i actually grew up hearing the exact opposite!
i’m not sure if you mean mixing brands or mixing a series from the same brand, but either way i feel there’s more benefits to mixing than just sticking to one!
especially for a newbie like myself, i find that mixing allows me to explore and truly understand what i need most. and also, products from the same brand / line doesn’t mean they are all good for your skin.
hope this helps and feel free to chat more on this!
