What product can I use for acne?? And what product should I use for blackheads??

I don't have a big issue with acne, I just don't know if I should incorporate an acne treatment within my skincare routine since it only happens when I eat something greasy or sweet (my skin also gets very oil depending on how much I ate), which I cut it down.

Any recommendations??

Also any recommendations for blackheads??

Maybe this can give a starting overview of the different options for active ingredients for acne and clogged pores. Could I ask how old you are/ how important minimizing photodamage/ early signs of aging is for you?

I'm 18, I don't worry so much about my skin in regards to signs of aging, at least currently. Sorry for the late response, I've been pretty busy with work.

I'd recommend to use azelaic acid daily in the AM (for example, one of these products: https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/touch-skin-care-bright-clear-cream (it also contains niacinamide which is great) or https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/inkey-list-azelaic-acid-serum). Azelaic acid helps prevent acne and balance the skin microbiome, and it rarely leads to irritation. It also helps to improve the skin tone and lighten the post-acne marks faster.

You can also add a salicylic acid product 2 times per week: for example, this: https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/naturium-salicylic-acid-serum-2. Salicylic acid exfoliates inside pores, and this helps prevent blemishes and reduce clogged pores too.

If you'd like to add a bit of "heavy weapon" against both acne and clogged pores, you could add an adapalene gel to your routine (available OTC in the US. If you can't access it, I can suggest an alternative): https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/differin-adapalene-gel-0-1-acne-treatment. It should be enough if you use it 3 times per week in the PM, after cleansing and before a moistruizer.

Please make sure to use a daily sunscreen in the AM too: it's a good idea for any age and skin state, but especially when you are using exfoliating actives and retinoids (adapalene). Also, sunscreen helps prevent dark post-acne pigmentation marks.
