Where is this ingredient derived from in this formulation? Can you please confirm if it is plant derived or from fish. I cannot use it if its from any other animal. Thank you.

To our knowledge, it is very rare to find collagen sourced not from animal sources, it usually comes either from fish, pigs or other animals (e.g. chicken). Collagen cannot be sourced from plants, but it can be synthesized by genetically modified yeast and bacteria. This production method is not mainstream yet, so it's unlikely that Rohto uses this type.
The manufacturer responded saying "We can not inform you origin of ingredients in "SKIN AQUA UV Super Moisture Gel Gold" because of our manufacturing know-how". The bottom line is that they will not guarantee the source and origin of the collagen they are using. It might be easier to find a product that fits you if you add the ingredient group "Collagen" on our website to your avoid list, and products containing collagen-derived ingredients will be flagged.
