I guess the "Day moisturizer" part is getting me confused - I'm knew at understanding skin care products. I know some products have multi-purposes but I still struggle to know if they are specifically for one thing only.

This Murad product can totally work as a day moisturizer + sunscreen in one 👍

Yes but I would personally use a higher level of spf!

The SPF is not very high. SPF 30 is kind of a “minimum” (please check online or elsewhere for yourself). SPF 50 AND “BROAD SPECTRUM” is highly recommended. You pretty much can’t go wrong with Australian sunscreens- they have high government sun-protection testing regulations, and their sunscreens also are AFFORDABLE. I recommend Blue Lizard sunscreens, which I have used for several years.

Yes! Many, if not most sunscreens have moisturizing ingredients (humectants like glycerin or hyaluronic acid) and emollients (like silicones, shea butter etc). And many do an excellent job for moistruization during day time. Some people still like to use a moisturizer first, and apply sunscreen afterwards for extra moisturization, but it's definitely not a must. In summer I almost always use only a sunscreen in the morning, and a moisturizer (without SPF) at night.
A bit of a trouble with what traditionally has been marketed as "day cream" is that sometimes they do not offer UVA protection, so I recommend to always double check for that.
