I’d say yes - 5% glycolic twice a day is risky, but once per day could be ok if your skin tolerates it well.

Did you consider using azelaic acid? It’s very gentle, but helps with acne and uneven tone. Can be safely used every day (it’s not the same kind of acid as glycolic for example, 10% or even 20% of azelaic acid only gives a very mild exfoliating effect).

You could use azelaic acid daily, and the glycolic toner every other night?

You could also skip the morning cleanse to decrease the damage barrier (this helps to tolerate the acids better).

Thanks a lot for the answer. I have a cleanser containing azelaic acid, I will use it instead. Bioderma sebium gel active also contains aha+bha, so I was not only using acids in toner but also in cleanser. Guess it’s better to switch it with azelaic acid cleanser.

Actually azelaic acid probably doesn't work in a cleanser - it needs to stay on the skin to deliver the effect
