Does all of this work together? I always have trouble trying to figure out the order. This is exactly the order I put them in. Do I have too many actives? My skin doesn’t seem to mind. Also my retina is actually one percent not .05.
Hello 👋. I noticed the lack of a good a.m. sunscreen. It’s important to use one daily, especially when using retinols and/or exfoliants.
Hello! :)
My first thought is that I don't see a sunscreen in the AM which will eventually make any work you've put into your skincare go down the drain! I'd highly recommend finding one you like and using it daily. I currently use the La Roche Posay Anthelios gentle lotion mineral sunscreen SPF 50.
Secondly, I'd recommend not washing your face twice at night. It's likely redundant and may be stripping your skin of it's natural oils. I don't see any ingredients in either that really stand out in either cleanser. Both are glycerin based which is good but you likely only need one.
Also I don't even wash my face in the morning, I just use water. If your skin is more oily maybe you'd like to wash it in the morning too, but it may be unnecessary.
I'd say the resurfacing pads could be used maybe every other night and alternate between that and the tretinoin just to limit any irritation by using too many actives at once.
You could likely move the azelaic acid to in the morning before the vitamin C and sunscreen so you have fewer actives at night.
You don't necessarily need to apply vitamin C at night unless you really want to. It's mostly used to boost the efficacy of your sunscreen and for a brightening effect and who's checking how bright you are at night, right?
I'd also tell you that you likely don't need the caudalie toner. I don't see any ingredients that stand out...Just adds an extra step without adding any benefits. If you like using it though I'd use it before any serums.
Just to go back over the order so you don't have to decipher what I said lol
AM-
Rinse with water or wash with cleanser, azelaic, vitamin C, moisturizer (if you need it), sunscreen
PM-
Cleanser, toner, exfoliating pads or tretinoin, cosrx snail mucin, moisturizer
If you want to use the azelaic and vitamin c at night as well, don't use the same night as the exfoliating pads and use them before the tretinoin.
Hope this helps! Good luck and keep us updated :)
I’d love to hear if you think I’m missing anything
