New skincare routine

Hi everyone!

I am looking to completely re do my skincare routine and any recommendations would be great!

Me:

Male

22

Pale and freckly

Oily/combination skin

concerns:

☑️ congested skin (blind spots)

☑️ large pores

☑️ oily skin which dries out too much using cerave blemish control cleanser

☑️ uneven and dull skin

☑️ dark under eyes

Skin type:

☑️ pale, freckly skin which can sometimes be sensitive.

☑️ mainly very oily but dries out when I use my the cerave cleanser.

What would I like?

Any recommendations for a complete overhaul of my skincare routine which targets large pores, congested skin with some blind spots, uneven and dull skin tone, and dark undereye circles.

Hi Tom, you seem very young to be using crystal retinal 6 and as it’s quite a strong retinal, it can contribute to dryness. I’m a 50+ woman and loved it as an anti-aging product. My daughter is having great success with Skin + Me the U.K. based prescription skincare subscription service. She had bad large breakouts. The products she had been using were causing some perioral dermatitis too. Skin + me has really soothed her skin and works out cheaper than the Medik8. Dermatologists at Skin + Me assess photos of your skin and prescribe. You can do monthly or change each order date to spread it out a bit. It’s good value. Creams can be Tretinoin based with niacinamide or other additives that soothe etc. but depends on how they asses your skin. They review and increase or decrease dosages as needed. They’ve started doing cleansers & moisturisers to complement their products. Dermatica is another similar service U.K. based. There is a similar service in the USA too. Just a suggestion but one to consider. Sometimes skincare for oily skin can be too harsh and the skin ramps up production in response. It can be a vicious circle. Best of luck.
