Using retinol for papery skin on hands?

I have some photodamaged skin (crepey / papery texture with elasticity loss) on the back of my hands, and while I weigh up the cost of fractionated laser (ResurFX)... I was thinking of trying something like The Ordinary Granactive 5% Retinoid on the backs of my hands.

Going for a higher concentration since hand skin is less sensitive than facial skin.

Note I already use CeraVe Reparative Hand Cream 2-3x daily, and have (belatedly) started using SPF moisturiser on my hands in the morning.

I'd say yes to it. As usual, just watching the irritation. But overall retinoids would be the best bet, also for the skin on the hands

I would suggest going to the drugstore and buying 0.1% adapalene (Differin). It is inexpensive and you will get much better results than from retinol.

Interesting! I read that Adapalene is also a topical retinoid, but less irritating, and remains in the skin layer (rather than sitting on top or passing through entirely). Unfortunately I've failed to find Differin or other adapalene gels for purchase in my country.
