Hi, advice wanted

Uhm I’m quite new to skincare and I fear I should have started wayy earlier…

My routine consists of cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen (if am).

Im nearing 20 and I don’t know if I should add anything else. I’m not a makeup person so I don’t think I need to double cleanse… any suggestions?

Hello! It's important to exfoliate your face as well. In school we used Dermalogica and that is what I recommend to my clients still because it's safe to use everyday. With that said, you do not have to use everyday. I recommend 2-3 x a week. It's called Daily Microfoliant. Also, make sure your sunscreen and moisturizer fits your skin for every season. If you are oily in the summer make sure you have a sunscreen and moisturizer for oily skin. And maybe you are dry in the winter and you then need to switch it up.

Hiii, the changing season products is confusingg- I hope to stick to my only sunscreen (Biore UV watery essence as asian products are always talked about as being gentler and better on media)

As for exfoliating… it sounds harsh on the skin, I only use a scrub for the blackheads on my nose and even then I am hesitant on using it,,, ;-;

that sounds good to me. simple is usually better. double cleansing can be good for taking off sunscreen, but personally I just choose sunscreens that won’t break my skin out of left on overnight.

Any suggestions for choosing sunscreens? Mine is currently UV biore watery essence but for the longest time I was having a hard time to find a natural mineral/physical sunscreen because according to google, chemical ones are horrible and that the sunscreen should contain stuff like titanium oxide instead,,, very overwhelming

Sunscreen is the most important part of skincare so you are doing great! Also, less is more. Maybe this post can help make sense of what “a proper skincare routine” should include: https://whatsinmyjar.com/resources/skincare-basics/how-many-steps-do-you-really-need-for-a-good-skincare-routine

That was a brilliant article!! It really made me feel better with my little 3 step skincare! As for the cleansing, it said you could get away with cleansing once per day? I have always seen people cleansing in the morning and then once again in the evening, if i don’t cleanse in the morning do I just put moisturiser on my face after washing it with plain water? It wont cause breakouts righhtt? I use the Cerave hydrating cleanser for reference btw

20 is not old - a lot of the complexity and expense of skincare routines is working to compensate for age and accumulated sun damage.

At 20 and wearing SPF50 daily, your routine is sufficient.

Im glad that sunscreen is the most important thing in a routine! I was thinking itd be complicated and Id have to use like serums, vitamins, Hylauronic acid, retinol, toners etc… i see people my age on media with 10 different stuff for their skin
