How often should I use this product?

I have this product and I want to use it, but I don't know how often I should do it. The Clinique website says twice a day (which I won't do, I'll just use it at night at most), but it contains salicylic acid and I don't want to overexfoliate my skin. On the other hand, the WIMJ website says it doesn't have much exfoliation power, so maybe it's OK to use it everyday.

I'm just using a cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen right now, so this would be the only active ingredient for my acne-prone skin.

Thanks so much.

There was an error in the ingredient list for this product, the main active in this product is 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide (https://whatsinmyjar.com/skincare-ingredients/benzoyl-peroxide). It can be used daily or even twice daily but will almost certainly cause dryness. I personally wouldn't recommend this particular formulation because it contains peppermint essential oil, and it will increase the chance of irritation and dryness. there are better formulations with the same active on the market, e.g.: https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/neutrogena-on.

I'd recommend to limit Benzoyl Peroxide use to 1-2 months. The problem is that it affects the skin microbiome (some of it is positive - short term it prevents the growth of acne-triggering bacteria, but it is not a good long-term solution). It's a good idea to add azelaic acid to the routine and consider trying a retinoid (e.g. differin gel) - these actives can help address deeper causes of acne (inflammation, over production of oil). This guide gives a quick overview of the acne causes and strategies for getting it under control: https://whatsinmyjar.com/skin-concerns/acne-and-clogged-pores

Apologies! False alarm, I think they re-formulated, and the current version of this product (https://whatsinmyjar.com/product/clinique-acne-solutions-all-over-clearing-treatment-oil-free) does not contain peppermint. So no need to change the product, sorry if I confused you.

Hi! I've been using it from monday to friday for five weeks now, and I actually haven't had any breakouts. I do still get small pimples, and my pores and blackheads are pretty much the same. It hasn't dried out my skin at all, although I don't tend to have dry skin anyway. Overall I'd recommend it!
